Newborn care support

Build confidence one ordinary moment at a time.

Calm, non-medical guidance with newborn rhythms, soothing, feeding routines, and the everyday questions that come home with a new baby.

Confidence is built by doing, not by watching

Every baby is different, and no book covers the specific newborn in your arms at two in the morning. Rooted in Grace offers hands-on, non-medical newborn care education so you learn to read your own baby rather than follow someone else’s rigid schedule.

The goal is your independence. LaTesha works alongside you rather than taking over, because a parent who has practiced soothing, swaddling, and settling their own baby feels capable long after support ends. Support that creates dependence is not support.

What you can practice together

Soothing and settling

Different babies calm differently. Try positions, movement, sound, and swaddling until you find what works for yours.

Safe sleep setup

Non-medical, education-only guidance on arranging the sleep space in line with current national safe-sleep recommendations.

Diapering and bathing

The everyday mechanics, at your pace, until they stop feeling like a procedure and start feeling like ordinary parenting.

Reading baby cues

Recognizing hunger signs, tired signs, and overstimulation before the crying starts, so the day feels less reactive.

Rhythms, not schedules

Building a loose daily flow that fits your household, rather than forcing a clock onto a newborn who cannot read one.

Siblings and pets

Practical ideas for helping an older child or a family dog adjust to the newest person in the house.

A note on safe sleep.

LaTesha shares current national safe-sleep education and follows your household’s arrangements. She does not assess medical risk. Sleep questions tied to your baby’s health belong with your pediatrician.

Newborn care is a skill, and skills take repetition

Most new parents describe the same feeling: they were handed a baby and expected to already know. There was no practice run. The learning curve is steep because it is genuinely new, not because anything is wrong with you.

Having a calm, trained person in the room while you practice changes the experience. Questions get answered as they come up instead of piling into a late-night search. By the end of a support plan, most families are doing the same tasks without thinking about them.

What Rooted in Grace provides

Non-medical newborn care education and hands-on practice: soothing, diapering, bathing, swaddling, safe-sleep education, cue reading, and daily rhythm building.

When LaTesha refers you out

Your pediatrician for weight, jaundice, feeding adequacy, illness, reflux, or any concern about your baby’s health. LaTesha does not assess, diagnose, or treat.

Common newborn questions

She can share current national safe-sleep education from sources such as the American Academy of Pediatrics and the CDC, and help you arrange the space accordingly. This is education, not a medical assessment of your baby.

That happens, and it is not a failed visit. A calm second person means the crying is shared instead of carried alone, and it often gives you the first real break of the day.

Only if that is what you want. More often she stays beside you while you do it, because that is what builds lasting confidence.

No. Rooted in Grace provides postpartum doula support focused on the recovering parent and the family transition, not traditional childcare.

You deserve support, too.
